The name “Green Amethyst” can be confusing. Some people prefer to call it “Prasiolite,” which comes from the Greek word meaning “leek stone,” referring to its green color.
Prasiolite is the naturally occuring green gemstone (rare), where green amethyst has been irradiated.
Green Amethyst can be created through irradiation or high-heat treatment of Amethyst. Occasionally, it forms naturally when Amethyst encounters lava flow heat.
It’s quite rare to find naturally occurring Green Amethyst, but most stones come from Brazil, Poland, the United States, Zambia, Tanzania, and Canada.

Brittany made my mom and I some custom mother daughter moonstone magical necklaces as a gift for my mom at Mother’s Day.
