I’ve been thinking about how to even put this into words, and it took a long walk with no music and no phone to get there.
This Madagascar moonstone strand, the second one I’ve had, is doing something I don’t see very often. From one angle it’s all Pacific Ocean blues, teal, aqua, that soft light green you see right where the water goes shallow. Then you shift it just slightly and it rolls into these southern sunset tones, peachy pink, orange, even a little yellow. It’s not one color that fades into another, it’s more like a flash that rolls across the stone as you move. I keep turning it in the light just to watch it happen.
I grew up on the Pacific side, so those blues are home to me in a very literal way. But I’ve lived in the South for a couple of years now, and those warm sunset colors are home too, just a different chapter of it. Wearing this piece feels like both of those places at once. It’s a feeling I can’t really put into words, but that’s exactly what this does every time I put it on.
This one’s living on the site if you’d like a closer look and to see a video here.
