Spiral Shell Boulder Opal Charm 14k

This is the piece that made me stop and look twice.
Most boulder opal carvings show one or two colors.

This spiral shell runs through blue, green, and true flashes of orange and red across nearly the whole surface. That range is rare. It means the color bar underneath the ironstone was wide and consistent enough to survive the entire depth of the carving without breaking up.

Sourced from a women owned mining operation in Queensland that mines, inspects, and hand carves every stone themselves. Nothing sent overseas. Nothing outsourced.

The spiral shape follows the natural form of a sea shell, ridge by ridge, tapering to a fine point. It is the most detailed carving in this collection.
