Red Bamboo Coral Knotted Bead Strand, Sterling Silver

Red bamboo coral doesn’t grow round. It grows like bamboo, in irregular segments, then gets sliced and shaped by hand. These beads were cut with a precision I’ve never come across in this material before, clean, even, almost architectural.

This coral is color enhanced. I tested it myself before it ever touched silk, and I bought it anyway. I’ve never seen this cut on bamboo coral before, and the color is that striking.

Strung on custom turquoise silk, knotted between every bead. 6mm stones throughout. Sterling silver hardware, engraved tag, welded and polished jump rings, and 14k white gold French wire at the clasp. The white gold gives it just enough contrast against the silver and the red without competing.
