Phosphosiderite Jawbreaker Necklace

Phosphosiderite is rare. Deep grape purple shot through with soft lavender and warm bronzy markings, and the color is real, no dye, just the way it comes out of the ground. It forms in only a few places on earth and rarely in strand quantity.

I went looking for stones I’d never worked with before for the Uncommon series, ones I’d never even held. This was one of them. The rounds are what I call my jawbreakers.

Hand knotted, one of one. 7mm rounds. The clasp and links are sterling. The French wire is 14k white gold, hand coiled. Sterling French wire on the market is plated and tarnishes, so I make my own in white gold instead. 17 and a half inches.

The gold opal charm shown is sold separately. The clasp swivels and snaps closed, so a charm is easy to add or you can wear the strand on its own.

When this one is gone there isn’t another.
