Beaded vs. Knotted Gemstone Strands

Beaded vs. Knotted Gemstone Strands

Beaded vs Knotted
Which style is for you?

First, let's define each style.

Beaded simply means the gemstones are sitting next to each other on the strand, with no space in between. They're typically strung on to a very strong bonded nylon wire that is kink-free and is supple enough to allow a beautiful drape.

Knotted means the gemstones have silk knots tied in between each stone. This technique requires patience and attention to detail. The reason I truly love knotting gemstone strands is because it provides an elegant look, and allows light to pass between the stones, making them look even more exquisite.

The knotting technique I've mastered over the last 5 years has allowed me to provide the highest quality in knotted necklaces. Not only are they beautiful, but they are also extra secure because I back-knot. This means I weave the silk through the ends at the clasp to make it seamless and I know your knotted necklace will last for years.

Now, you certainly don't have to choose one or the other (I wear a beaded moonstone necklace with my knotted turquoise and opal necklaces often).

Layer them together or wear them separately. Do you prefer one style over the other? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Looking forward to serving you with gems and joy,

Brittany
