Citrine - another love affair for quartz.
Yes, citrine is a variety of quartz! Just like amethyst, rose, clear, and smoky quartz, too.
But why do we love it now? It's just a different shade of quartz, right?
No, no, no.. this gives off a whole different feel and vibe. We could go over the chemical properties, but for me, it's the connection first and always.
Just like with most gem strands, I had an instant connection with the stones as soon as I saw them. They jumped out at me with their intense color. I went back to the gem show a second time and as I was procrastinating leaving (because why would I want to leave?!) I circled around the table one more time... and spotted the faceted Citrine teardrops.
The glow, the color, the saturation, WOW. I picked them up and really got a feel for their weight and size, and how they seem to swim in my hand like waves. They're so tactile. They look like dripping honey. And that's exactly how I select my stones. The energetic connection- I truly have to feel it in my heart to bring them home with me. Otherwise, it just wouldn't feel right.
Each citrine stone carries different hues. From a paler gold to a deep, intense saturation of amber.
I imagine the person who wears this would want to show it off, likes to feel bold, and likes getting compliments on her jewelry.
