Dense fire, almost edge to edge.

This scallop carries blue, green, and red across nearly the entire face, with the ironstone matrix showing through in places like texture rather than flaw. That contrast, bright color against dark stone, is what boulder opal does that no other opal can.

Hand mined in ironstone above ground in Queensland.

Hand carved by the same team that inspects every stone before it ever touches a blade, checking that the color will hold once the carving reaches full depth. Not every stone makes it through that process. This one did, and it shows.
